This question was asked by a friend on Facebook and I am posting my reply here. How does one lift himself/herself up after failing? Failure can be devastating. Here's my take on it.
Surround yourself with people who wish the best for you. Cut everyone who tries to pull you down. Don't feel bad about it. Do whatever the fuck you need to do to feel like yourself back again.
Read the old book.
Watch the old movie.
Go through the old photographs.
Remind yourself who you were before you even tried. People will tell you to stop thinking too much and get on with it but you need to think.
Think what's most important to you and if you failed on the path to that thing you that's important to you!
Is it the path that was wrong or is the thing you're valuing valuable at all?
Or are you influenced into thinking it's valuable?
Does it resonate with you even if no one gave a shit about your goals?
If yes, make a list about things that went wrong and things you can work on.
If you can work on them, give yourself 3 months and start hustling.
If it is practically impossible to do so, give up and pursue the goal with another medium/path.
